UGA vs. GT Baseball Game

Every year, Georgia Tech plays a baseball game against Georgia at Turner Field (where the Braves play now). This year, we were invited through Kyle's work to go with the kids, walk them around the field, and then join other families in a suite. We knew the kids were too young to sit through an entire baseball game, but it was free, so we figured we would go and stay as long as we could. Charlie was pretty excited about seeing the big stadium where the Braves play. Here he is, walking in with Kyle.

Deep inside the stadium, on our way to the field...

When they say walk "around the field," they literally mean, walk around the warning track. It was a long way for Charlie and he was getting grumpy by the end. He was pretty disappointed too because he though he was going to get to play catch on the field. We went to a minor league baseball game last year where he got to play catch on the field before the game and he remembered that and thought it would be the same. I had no idea he even remembered the minor league game. No wonder he was disappointed. Overall though, he handled it well.

By the way, Holly is wearing a white and red dress with a UGA logo.

After the long walk around the field, we made our way up to the suite where we tried to feed the kids. Holly spilled an entire bottle of water on herself and tried to eat every disgusting thing she could find stuck on the ground. Charlie just wanted to run back and forth in the hallway. I spent about 80% of the time watching the kids run around in the air conditioning before Kyle suggested we leave. I think we made it to the third inning.  The kids seemed to have fun, but I was exhausted! Good thing it was all free.

On the way out, we got Charlie to pose for one more picture.
