This year for the Holbrook Family vacation, we tried a new place. We needed to find a house that was:
*right on the beach
*big enough for 10-12
*not somewhere crowded
*less than 6 hours away
There weren't any houses available at Amelia Island, so we expanded our search and found a home on Harbor Island in South Carolina. It was different than Amelia and much more like an inter coastal beach than Atlantic Ocean. By the end of the week, we all enjoyed it so much that we have already booked another vacation house on the island for next year!
One of the things that was so different was the beach. At high tide, it was a very small beach, but at low tide, there is a very wide, muddy floor. We had a lot of fun throughout the week playing in it and finding crabs!
The evenings were especially fun. We did some exploring...
bike riding,
hanging with the big kids,
and playing beach golf.
Holly quickly tired of beach golf and headed out to the water.
As soon as she saw me walking toward her with my camera, she started hamming it up.
Beautiful sunsets
