When it was time to trick-or-treat, Charlie was so excited to finally wear his ghost costume. He REALLY wanted to be a ghost this year, but I told him it was too scary for school, which is why he was a race-car driver at his school party.
It was pretty chilly so Holly wore her warmed spider costume.
Last year, Charlie only made it to a couple of houses and we had to do a lot of coaxing to get him up to each door. This year, he was much more into it. Emily's family came over and we all went out together.
That might have helped to give Charlie some confidence. He was super into it! He ran right up to the house, knocked on the door, said trick-or-treat, said thank you, and then ran off to the next one. Holly seemed to understand what was happening too and she tried to keep up with them as they ran from house to house. Here is a video I got at one house. You can see that Charlie doesn't want to wait!
We made a loop around the cul-de-sac by our house and when we came back past our house, Charlie said he was ready to go pass out candy. We were only out for about 30 minutes, but it was plenty for all of us. Like last year, Charlie loved handing out candy. He wasn't scared by any of the costumes (and neither was Holly - nothing scares her!). We had almost 200 kids come by and we let the kids stay up way past their bed time.
Around 9:15 we decided it was time to go inside, so we turned off the lights and shut down. The kids were exhausted from all the fun!
