Charlie was ready to greet everyone with his birthday hat on.
And after a quick picture with Mom,
he was off to show his friends how to use his new slide.
His friend Layla got in on the action.
And so did Carter.
Carter's little brother Parker is only a month old, so he stayed with Mom.
After lots of playing, it was time to open presents.
Mom helped at first,
but Charlie was pretty good at tearing off the wrapping by himself.
And he couldn't wait to play with his new toys.
He couldn't believe the mountain of new toys!
After the present opening it was time for cake.
Charlie was definitely a little confused at first.
He barely touched his cake and then looked up at us and gave us the sign for "all done."
But with a little more coaxing,
we were able to convince him that it was supposed to be fun.
And once he got the hang of it, there was no stopping him.
But eventually we had to take the cake away from him and change into another birthday outfit. This time it was a onesie that said "Happy Birthday Dad!"
(Kyle's birthday was the 15th.)
As all our friends said goodbye,
Charlie gave everyone yummy Cookie Monster and Elmo cake pops on their way out.
Thanks again to everyone for coming and celebrating Charlie's first year with us!
