For the 4th of July this year, we celebrated in the morning with our neighborhood parade. We were leaving the next morning for Amelia Island, so we skipped the late night fireworks. We were really excited to use our golf cart for the first time too!
Our neighborhood has a kids parade where the kids decorate their bikes and ride around the square outside of the clubhouse. There is also a golf cart parade afterward. Next year we will participate in that one too. It looked like fun!
But this year we started with the kids' parade. We went over to Emily's house and got Charlie's bike decorated the night before. He was so cute!
Maddie and Holly made excellent spectators.
When the kids parade was over, Charlie, Emily, and Holly had some fun on the lawn.
Then it was time for the golf cart parade and collecting candy,
After the parade, the kids wanted to ride their bikes again. Emily was very concerned that Charlie didn't want to ride his helmet.
She even tried to get Holly to wear it.
When that didn't work, she decided to wear the helmet herself.
Unfortunately we had to leave after a while for Holly's nap, so we told our friends good-bye. Charlie wanted a kiss but Emily wasn't going for it. He settled for a hug.
