19 Months

Little Charlie is 19 months old now and not little at all anymore! When we went to his 18 month check-up a few weeks ago, he measure in the 73rd percentile for height!

In addition to growing taller, Charlie is a very active toddler. His favorite thing to do right now is to jump from the couch to the ottoman and back. When he's not climbing on the couch, he's climbing on Mom, Dad, or whatever/whoever else is available. He also loves to jump off his stool and my aerobics step. He's getting pretty good at landing on both feet.

What he doesn't love right now is the bast. Several weeks ago he suddenly started to hate bath time. I assumed it was a phase but he hasn't gotten over it. He will willingly get in the tub but then he whines/cries, won't play with any toys, and tries to climb out the whole time until it's over. I tried several different things like taking baths at different times of the day, getting in with him, turning off the water before he came in, letting the water run the whole time hoping it would be distracting, etc. Nothing worked so we recently abandoned the bath and now I just put him in the shower with me. He doesn't love that either but he doesn't seem to hate it as much as the bath and it's a lot faster and easier for me.

Charlie is still going to bed around 7:30-8:00 and he usually gets up between 6:30 and 7:00. We officially switched to one nap a day and he's doing really well with it. He goes down around noon and sleeps about and hour and a half to two hours. He's so good about going to bed and going down for naps. He almost never fusses and will sometimes stop us from reading books and walk over to his crib and point to it, telling us he's ready for bed.

Charlie's favorite word right now is 'ow'. He loves to pretend to get hurt and will talk about his 'boo boo' all day. Although it seems like he never sits still, he will take breaks for hugs and kisses and is still a very loving little big boy.

Here are some recent pictures and video of our tall(!) toddler...

Playing hide and seek

Watching golf

Hanging with Dad

His new backpack

Charlie wiped out at the zoo and got a scrape on his knee. All day when I asked him about it, he would point to the wrong knee.
