A few weekends ago, we took a trip to the mountains with Nana and Poppy and the Garretts. We had an awesome cabin just outside of Helen. The cabin was on 50 acres and included a stocked fishing pond and a fire pit. It was beautiful and great for the kids to run around. They absolutely adore their cousins and we all had a great time hanging out together.

It was a beautiful evening and the kids were in a great mood.
Holly saw me with the camera and immediately said "CHEESE!"
The next morning we headed to the pond for some fishing. Maddie was unstoppable. No matter what she did, she kept catching fish!
Wes created a spear out of a branch and decided he was going to spear the fish instead. It wasn't very successful, but he had fun.
Charlie and I also reeled in a few fish.
And finally, Daddy did too.
Aunt Stephanie (Charlie and Holly call her Lala) spent most of the time trying to get Charlie to play in this puddle. He wasn't so sure at first.
But he slowly started to get into it.
And soon he couldn't be stopped.
Once we got back to the cabin and got our showers, it was time for football. While we watched Georgia Tech, Holly clamored for attention.
Charlie did a pretty good job of playing by himself while Lala napped on the couch.
When I told Charlie it was time for his nap, he told me that he would just rest outside.
After football and naps, we got cleaned up and ready to head into Helen for dinner.
Poppy made sure Holly's hair was brushed.
Charlie's too.
While in Helen, we saw this "dance" performance going on. The kids were very intrigued.
After all that dancing, we needed some sugar so we got some yummy sweets at the candy store before heading home.
The next morning, we went fishing again and this time Holly got to join in the fun. Unfortunately Charlie was stung by a yellow jacket right after we got to the pond. Nana and I took him back to the cabin, while Holly stayed with Daddy and played in the puddle.
We took it easy and hung out while it rained outside.
But we did get to see these wild turkeys who kept stopping by to say hello.
When the rain cleared, there was a beautiful rainbow on the mountain in front of us.
When the kids woke up from their naps, Maddie and I took them to visit some cows down the road. There were about 30 cows, including 15 babies!
And what mountain trip would be complete without a good fire pit. Charlie really enjoyed roasting marshmallows and making smores!
It was a wonderful weekend and Charlie has already started asking when we are going back!
