Charlie, Kyle, and I are at Amelia Island with Nana and Poppy. We arrived yesterday and are having a wonderful time already. Charlie rode down with Nana and Poppy in the back to entertain him. That was awesome for Kyle and I too!
After we got settled, we took Charlie to the pool. At first he was having a blast jumping in to Dad and practicing his swimming.
Unfortunately he quickly decided that he didn't need help and he wanted to jump in by himself. He got very upset when we tried to help him or catch him. That led to timeout and the first of two MAJOR tantrums yesterday.
(Poor guy has had a cold and the doctor gave us an antibiotic to take with us this week just in case we needed it. After yesterday's behavior and quite a bit of coughing in the middle of the night, we started him on the medicine today.)
Despite his behavior yesterday, he was in a great mood all day today and we had a lot of fun playing. Nana and Poppy took Charlie to the beach while Kyle and I took a nap. This is my kind of vacation! Once we woke up, we joined them on the beach and took some pictures of all the fun.
When the tide was out, there was a large tide pool where Charlie could walk and play. It was like a huge, warm baby pool. Perfect!
The birds loved the tide pool too, and Charlie made sure we saw them all.
We also spent some time in the ocean waves, where Charlie got his first boogie board lesson.
And when it was time to head in, Charlie was a big help. He pulled his sand toys in his wagon all by himself!
